Sponsors

In 2007, hyperhistory.net had nearly 2 million unique visitors to its pages. Statistics reveal that about 25% come by clicking in from one of the 100s of sites that have links to the excellent information on hyperhistory.net while another 10% come from clicking our numerous high ranking pages in the Google search engine. Based on time of day and other statistics, we estimate that over 60% of our visitors are high school and college age students in the USA who are seeking academic material.

Hyperhistory.net offers two ways for sponsors to get out their message to our audience. Specific targeting per visitor and/or general advertising across 100s of pages per month. Ads do not rotate with those of other sponsors and total graphical ads per page are limited to only three, making sure your ad does not get buried.

Specific Targeting per Visitor

Sponsors may choose to target their advertising to our visitors who display specific interests. For example, one sponsor decided to advertise his new book about Attila the Hun on a popular hyperhistory.net biography page over the life of Attila the Hun. Obviously, the advertiser has targeted attentive potential customers who have already expressed curiosity for his subject. [Other advertising was since added to that page after his three month campaign was completed.]

Top 20:
Placing an ad on one of our top 20 pages (each averaging around 2000 visitors per month) is charged per visitor as listed below. Our flat rates for text (120 characters max) links on these popular pages are $10 month for text link below fold (see example) or $15 month for text link above fold (minimum 3 month contract).

Lessor Ranked Pages:
Ranking below the top 20 are over 1000 other pages, but the content may be what is more critical than the overall rank.

Placing an text ad below the fold* on a lower ranking page (see example) cost $100 per page for a one year period.

Placing a banner ad below the fold* is listed below as monthly flat rate. Add $4 per month for above fold display.

* "below the fold" means no closer than 600 pixels from the top of the screen

120 x 600 (Tower)
cost = .05 per visitor, $20/month

468 x 60 (Static Banner), cost = two cents per visitor, or $8 per month

468 x 60 (Dynamic Flash Banner), cost = four cents per visitor, or $16 per month

728 x 90 (Static Leaderboard), cost = four cents per visitor, or $16 per month

728 x 90 (Static Leaderboard), another example

728 x 90 (Dynamic Flash Leaderboard), cost = six cents per visitor, or $24 per month

Custom Design
Need a banner? hyperhistory.net custom designs static banners for $40, and dynamic flash banners for $75, satisfaction guaranteed - pay on delivery (usually less than three days from order to finished product). Horizontal banner placement is after the essay but before the navigation table (example). Vertical banners are placed on the right hand side within 500 pixels of the top.

Hyperhistory.net also offers general advertising across 100s of pages through text links, and clickable graphical button ads.

The advantage of a textbox over a graphical ad is that the link is searchable by Google an other such services. The advantage of a clickable graphical image is that it is more likely to catch the eye of a visitor. All biographies and essays are two clicks from the home page. We do not allow advertisers to select only certain biographies or essays to place their ads. For example, In January 2008, our biography on Buddha recieved 5330 unique visitors, but our biography of Toussaint Louverture only had 1598 unique visitors. There were 172,090 unique visitors to the website in January, 2008.

Homepage Placement
Our homepage receives about 2000 unique visitors per month. More importantly, our high ranking in Google and Alexa mean links from our site to your related material will help increase your site's page ranking in the search engines. If you have a quality site, that does not conflict with the goals of hyperhistory.net, then we may consider selling a text only ad on our homepage for $50 / month. (120 characters max, minimum 3 month contract, below the fold)

Payment: See your ads on line first, then pay!

For the Targeted Ad campaign, payment can be sent to hyperhistory.net via Paypal during the first week of each month for the previous month's visitor count statistic.

Partial month payment example:
If the total April visitors to the target page were 6000, but your banner (468 x 60) was displayed for only ten days out of the thirty in April, then the charge would be prorated for the number of complete days in April, e.g., .02 x 2000 = $40. From then on you can just check the stats of the previous month and pay hyperhistory.net via Paypal.

Once paid, fees are non-refundable. Your ad is guaranteed to remain on line for the time period you have purchased. Once that period is up, you will be contacted to see if you would like to continue advertising with us. Should you decide not to do so, the ad will be removed.

Be advised that the months of the USA school year typically have more visitors than the summer months. "Visitors" are sometimes erroneously called "page impressions" but one visitor could go to a site and reload the page several times which might show as an elevated page impression count. "Unique Visitors" is more statistically accurate because even one who reloads the same page only shows as a single visitor since the client's IP request is logged to prevent multiple reloads entering the count. "Page Hits" are always more than visitors because hits include requests from search engines and other bots that may not mean any real person actually visited the page.
