Secular Humanism’s view on psychology is based on three assumptions. These are that man is good by nature and therefore perfectible; society and its social institutions are responsible for man’s evil acts, and thirdly that mental health can be restored to everyone who gets in touch with his inner “good” self. Rather then excepting responsibility for actions, they belief guilt is wrong, for the bad things done are society’s fault, not man’s.
Marxist psychology is based on behaviorism, which is a belief Noebel describes as “the belief that man is controlled by stimuli from the environment and never a makes a decision in which he exercises free will.” For example, rather then believing that men act because they want to, Marxists and Leninists believe that men act as a reaction to what is around them. They believe that the when the ultimate level of society is reached, there will be good stimuli, and therefore everyone will act perfectly.
Cosmic Humanists believe that men will evolve past the bad things they do, until utopia, the New Age, is reached, and men are perfect. Until human kind reach the state of perfection through high consciousness, Cosmic Humanists believe that if we are touch with our inner goodness, we will be healthy- physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Unlike Cosmic Humanists, who think that then there is a problem, there is a deep psychological explanation that takes hours of counseling, according the Noebel Christians believe that if you remain in submission to God, you will be psychologically healthy.
