How to format the HTML questions for your essay

According to the syllabus, you are to submit “4 multiple choice questions for each essay”. Your question should include four reasonable, and one humorous, distracters to make the question multiple choice. The answer to each question should be found in your essay.

You will receive extra credit if you encourage reader participation by writing your questions in the interactive html format such as in the “WHY for week 12” (code below). Remember, you also get extra credit for HTML Chicago Style endnotes rather than using MLA.

INSTRUCTIONS:

In the example below, you replace all the text in small case letters with your own questions.

Leave the UPPPER CASE text alone. Also, don't change the specific lower case of: OnClick="(form.hints2.value=’
Except notice that the first question is named "Q1". It also contains "hints1".
Likewise, the second question is named "Q2". It also contains "hints2".
And so on...

An extra apostrophe in the OnClick hints will cause problems. For example, you can’t say can’t. Instead, you have to write "cannot". Likewise, instead of “India’s wealth”, you must write “wealth of India”. Get the idea?

Since you are doing this as extra credit, I'll give you three types of questions to choose from. You could even stoop to create a true or false questions. For added fun (really!), you can preview your work by:

1. Saving the text between <FORM> and </FORM> into a “Notepad” (text only) file. SAVE AS TYPE “All Files” and give your file name an extension of .htm

2. Open your Internet browser and choose from the menu bar, FILE … OPEN… and select the file you saved.

3. Check it out. Smile. Then send the file to me along with the name of your corresponding essay.
