Shinto Prayer

If you receive in your hearts tranquilly and peacefully
The noble offerings thus presented
As offerings of ease,
As offerings of abundance,
And if you spare all the products harvested by the
common people of the kingdom
From bad winds and rough waters
And prosper them and bring them to fruition-
Then the first fruits, raising high the soaring necks
Of the countless wine vessels, filled to the brim,
Will be set up, in both liquor and stalks,
Eight Hundred ears (or rice), a thousand ears,
And will be presented in the autumn festival.
